July 22, 2022
Meet Alberto Ramirez Salazar (G-ETS 2022)
Degree Program
Master of Divinity
What is your hometown and educational background?
My home town is Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. I have a bachelor of science in psychology from Juan Wesley Seminary in Monterrey, Mexico.
How has your time at Garrett-Evangelical shaped your ministry and calling?
My time in Garrett-Evangelical was a journey to reflect on my pastoral and prophetical call in the light of liberating theologies, pastoral care, and biblical criticism. Through my studies, I reaffirmed my commitment to preach the good news to the poor, liberation to the oppressed, and healing to the sick.
What is your most transformative experience at Garrett-Evangelical?
My most transformative experience was realizing that as the Wounded Healer, I could be a better Christian leader when I serve from my authenticity and vulnerability than from my pride and abilities.
What’s next? What are your plans or your hopes for your future?
My future is my present, working in a parish and looking into options for my doctoral studies.
