Educating for Transformation

My work centers on bridging the gap between higher education and collective action for justice. I believe that academia should not be confined to the classroom; it must engage with the lived realities of marginalized communities, where true transformation happens. My role is to connect students to this process, providing them with contextual education that equips them to become active participants in movements that seek to dismantle oppressive systems and envision more just and compassionate futures.

Education is not just about imparting knowledge; it is about collectively learning and sharing the knowledge we all bring, especially amplifying the voices that have historically been marginalized and viewed as “the other.” By doing this, we create spaces that cultivate authentic relationships, grounded in mutual respect and solidarity. These relationships push us to engage in collective action, driving the change that transforms both our communities and the systems of oppression we aim to dismantle. This work is not theoretical—it’s the practical, transformative work of living our faith in solidarity with others.
