Garrett-Evangelical has allowed me to explore my identity as an educator. Through my classes, discussions with peers, and guidance from the faculty, I’ve been able to discern my definition of education and how I want to be an educator.

My time at Garrett-Evangelical has profoundly shaped my call to ministry by recognizing that Jesus’s call to discipleship as a pastor in the church requires a servant-leader heart.

I was in search of a theological lens that not only created permission to pursue justice, but also centered it as crucial to being a follower of Jesus Christ. I found that at Garrett-Evangelical.

It probably sounds staged or insincere but facing a global pandemic during my seminary career has allowed me the opportunity to learn to do ministry in new and creative ways.

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary is proud to announce Aaron Dorsey has been selected to receive a 2022 Doctoral Fellowship from the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE). Dorsey’s area of concentration in the seminary’s doctor of philosophy program is in biblical studies.

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary doctor of philosophy candidate, Reverend Patricia Bonilla, has been named a 2022-2023 Hispanic Theological Initiative/Lilly Endowment Dissertation Fellow. Bonilla is one of 10 doctoral candidates in North America to be named a 2022-2023 fellow.

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the following Honors and Awards which have been conferred upon selected students for the 2021-2022 academic year. The awards were presented at the seminary’s Service of Recognition on May 4, 2022, to recognize outstanding achievements by students and graduates.

The idea for Mixed Kids Ministry began in their first semester of seminary when Aspiras, an interracial Filipina, and DeHaan, a biracial Latiné, were looking for a space where they could be their whole selves and struggled to find it.
